The UBX TRAIN: On Demand app promises a new workout every day. You can train with body weight-only programs or equipment-based programs.
What is UBX?
UBX [pronounced you-box] delivers a unique mix of boxing and strength training across a 12-round circuit in under 45 minutes.
The UBX Train On Demand app features
- Workout library
- Meal planner
- Equipment workouts
- Guided meditation
- Shopping lists
You can now take your training from the club to your home, wherever you are, and whenever you need it. Train: On Demand is free for UBX club members.
The “Fighter Pack” has everything you need for the equipment-based exercise programs including a skipping rope, slider discs, agility cones, activation bands, power bands, and a handy carry bag.
The workouts are built around 12 rounds of boxing and strength. The overview will include the workout duration, muscles targeted, and any equipment you might need.
The programs were designed by Danny Green, a Professional Boxer (4 times world champion), Anna McKay, an accredited practising dietician, Brad Harrington and Jonah Hales.
When you are ready, click on the green button to Start Workout. You’ll see a video demonstrating the exercise and a timer. You’ll hear the last three seconds count down. Then rest between every third round for 30 seconds.
The exercises include boxing routines, jump squats, banded push-ups, deadlifts, archer pushups with sliders, mountain climbers, burpees, skipping, and more.
Take note of which foot is forward. After three you’ll swap to the other side. The videos are good, but there are no cues or instructions.
I wasn’t a fan of all of the exercises. You can change the phase to slugger, southpaw, swarmer, boxer-puncher, counter-puncher, and pure boxer.
I liked the variety of exercises and you don’t stay on one thing for too long. You might be able to adapt some of the band exercises to do with regular weights.
The library contains workouts, recipes, and articles. You can click on the middle today button to see the featured workout, featured meal plan, and an article to read.
Each day you can view your meal plans which cover breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack.
- Breakfast meals include boiled eggs and avo soldiers, Reuben toasted sandwiches, vitamin c smoothie, protein porridge with blueberries, overnight oats and chia.
- Lunch meals include lamb and tzatziki and Greek salad, lamb with polenta and minted salad, healthy homemade burgers, coconut chicken schnitzel and almond-crusted fish with spiced mash.
- Dinner meals include zucchini fritters, chicken pesto zoodles, chicken noodle soup, prawn and mango salad, beef with lentil and halloumi salad,
- Snacks include corn thins with nut butter or cottage cheese, Medjool dates with nut butter, fruit and yogurt.
Each recipe contains the calories, prep and cooking time, and the option to print it out. You can swap out the recipes for something else you would prefer to eat.

About UBX
We started UBX with one aim in mind: to give everyone the opportunity to train like a boxer. Our success has come from our ability to rethink boxing and rethink group training in a way that gives our members access to a unique mix of boxing and strength training in an ultra-flexible format that removes class timetables and bookings altogether. We like to think that we’re everything a traditional gym is not: fun, flexible, addictive and inclusive!
Co-founded in Australia by four-time world champion boxer Danny Green and fitness and tech entrepreneur Tim West, UBX now has over 90 boutique gyms across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with more gyms opening in the United Kingdom and the United States in 2022.
